This farce has all the elements of a very humorous play. The love triangle is complicated by a rather inept Brindsley and an overbearingex-army officer (who dotes upon his ditzy daughter).

Brindsley, who is hoping to impress the colonel thereby gaining his permission to marry his daughter, resorts to underhand means in order to enhance his own financial status. Throw into the mix a very camp collector of artifacts, an ex (or is she?) girlfriend, an electricianof German origin, a millionaire dealer in priceless works of art and a spinster, unhinged byalcohol, and you have the ingredients for a great nights entertainment.
