Our town… our lives… Our Stories

Six true stories of history, hope, humour and finding home in Esperance.  The Our Stories project is proudly presented by Esperance Theatre Guild and generously funded by Esperance Showbizz to enable writers to capture local stories and bring them alive on stage.

This debut season features scripts by Dale Johnson, Lyndel Taylor, Dorothy Henderson, Gillian White, Lois Saunders and Digby Brandenburg.  Each writer has created a monologue of 8-15 minutes which shares the story of someone you will know.  The resulting scripts are highly engaging and explore experiences such as the isolation of our first settlers, the legacy of war, the 1962 Nullarbor crossing undertaken by the Reichstein and March team, and the tension of the 1999 sea rescue of the stricken yacht, Emmanuel 3.

The stories are brought to life by some of the Bijou’s most experienced actors including Victoria Brown, Luke Robson, Lyndel Taylor, Gillian White, Leigh Scott, Tania Capelli and Digby Brandenburg.
